Best land positions
Point State Park (start, 10K, 20K, 28K and the finish), Rivers Casino at roughly 8K, the Convention Center at roughly 23K, and Redfin Blues for the 25K turnaround buoy.
The moments
7:00 AM North Shore launch, prayer and national anthem before the water start at the fountain, lunch handoff at the Point, the Hot Metal Bridge turnaround, and the buoy finish as the sun goes down.

The Three Rivers Marathon Swim (3RMS) is a 30K open water marathon swim held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania since 2013. Swimmers complete a 10K out-and-back leg in each of the city’s three rivers — the Ohio, the Monongahela and the Allegheny — starting and finishing at the Point State Park fountain, under a strict 12-hour cutoff. The race is hosted by Team Forever, and its profit goes to the Forever Fund, which helps local families cover the costs associated with infant cardiothoracic surgery at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
Founder and Race Director: Darren E. Miller.
